Street Safari
I was truly inspired when I witnessed Kenzo’s spring 2013 collection, the use of abstract animal prints and mix of saturated color schemes was definitely a look I was hunting for before the summer dwindles down. Luckily, I came across this get-up at Topman.com (on sale) where I found this coupled outfit with a very apparent safari print from top-to-bottom. What I love most about it though, is that it’s casual in the front and a party on the other side with the whole cast of Lion king on my back.
I think this get-up is appropriately outrageous and by adding nods of street sensibility with black accessories from the shades to the black croc Dr. Martens, even Mowgli from Jungle Book would appreciate a little street safari Puh~NASH!

Circle of life I guess….

Because the color of the front of this tank is so close to my skin tone, I layered in black chains to add a bit of contrast and tension. And yes, I got 5 chains on! Eat your heart out 2 Chainz! - 5 CHAINNNNNNNZ!!!!

Switching your laces out is an easy upgrade for your favorite pair of black shoes. I like em’ with construction boot laces, it gives it a rugged-like feel.

Got this bag in exchange for a whole bunch of my old clothes at Buffalo Exchange. The wear and tear on it makes it special. The bag that is, not my old clothes that accumulated into a $50 trade-in credit.

Thanks to the best hair stylist in NYC Aut Sauce for giving me a new doooooo! Check her out at Shampoo on Avenue B!

We purchased this shirt at one of our fave vintage spots in London called Rokit True Vintage. They carry a wide range of hand selected pieces that are pretty affordable (even with the exchange rate) ,plus they have an on-line store too —> click here to shop.

The khaki suspenders is not exactly what a safari explorer would wear, but we thought it was a little reminiscent to the holsters they used to use on their explorations.

The real circle of life on Janine’s shirt: catch that antelope!!!!

The added element of street style here is from her waist down. Pinstripe workwear jeans and striped wedges with a bit of “TUDE” balances out the safari steez up top.

She even has the cheetah print on her nails!
